Professional Teaching Experience

Teacher in Residence – National Centre for the Performing Arts – Mumbai, India – July 2013 to present

·         This is the premier arts organization in India and home to the Symphony Orchestra of India

·         Teach woodwind and brass instruments, music theory, and music history

§  This is a conservatory teaching project grades 2-10

§  Expanded the project to offer all orchestral instruments

§  Created an innovative history of music lecture series for students and parents

·         Manager of the NCPA Junior Strings Programme – 2014 to 2016

§  This was an outreach teaching project serving 200 violin students grades K-9 across twenty-one schools in Mumbai

§  Managed staff of eleven violin teachers

§  Responsible for providing professional development to all teachers, recruiting students, organizing student concerts, and preparing students for the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music exams

Director of Bands – Kodaikanal International School – Tamil Nadu, India – July 2011 to June 2013

·         This is a coeducational international boarding school of 600 students grades K-12

·         Taught Wind Ensemble (the premier band grades 8-12), Wind Band (the intermediate level band grades 5-10), and lessons (bassoon, clarinet, oboe, percussion, and saxophone) grades 5-12

·         Oversaw entire band program of 100 students and four band teachers

·         Assisted the music department with student recruitment, revision of academic policies, and student auditions for the Indian National Youth Orchestra and the Association for Music in International Schools Honor Band
